This introductory course acquaints students with the common components of well executed meetings and events. This course covers venues, transportation, steps and duties of event planning, event management and execution, an overview of the industry, and career possibilities.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

• Explain the event planning process
• Select an appropriate event venue for a client
• Describe the logistical needs and options of an event
• Identify the skills a good event planner should acquire
• Discuss steps to execute events from pre-con to evaluation
• Analyze career opportunities in the events industry

Successful completion of all activities and quizzes. You will receive a welcome letter from your instructor which will include greater details of grading criteria.

Each Lesson includes an online quiz (Lesson 2 has 2) and most include an application activity. These activities will ask you to complete independent research and application, consider various ideas, or discuss and share insights with friends or family. There is a final comprehensive exam.

Final Exam

The maximum time to complete this course, if not included in your welcome letter, will be sent to you by your instructor. To be completed in that time: 8 quizzes, 6 activities, and 1 final exam. The final exam is 50 questions long and can be completed within two hours. All reviews, exercises and other assignments are submitted electronically to your instructor with results returned via email.
